Monday, April 21stThe UIC Accounting Club hopes you had a great time at the 2008 banquet. We want to remind everyone about the upcoming baseball event. The event will be held during the summer break.
UIC Ascend will be hosting a PWC firm presentation. It will be a excellent opportunity to network with a PWC firm rep and learn more about the company. We hope to see you there.

CPA Simulation
Wednesday, March 12th Planning on taking the CPA Exam?
Have you wondered what a simulation will be like on the exam?
Come sample an Audit Simulation and see what it will be like on CPA Exam day!
The Simulation workshop is geared to expose students to the technology hurdle of taking the CPA exam. You will receive "hands on experience" in reading requirements, answering the questions and functionally posting answers, just like you will be required to do when you take the exam. You will also have time to venture through the simulation on your own, so that you can ask questions on your areas of concern.

New Webpage Launches!!
Sunday, March 3rdWe've launched our new Accounting Club web page that includes serious upgrades in the code we use! This means we'll be able to manage a more reliable site that provides more updates, more valid content for members, and more general resources for Chicagoland Accounting enthusiasts! A special thanks goes out to Samir Ahmed who put this giant project together over the last few months! His work has been outstanding, as you can clearly see! We will be continuously working through the next week to update all of the important banquet information which everyone will be looking for and we'll also be finishing up the final touches on the web site. If you see anything wrong with the site or find any glitches please email us at accountingclub@gmail.com and let us know.

Tuesday , February 5thMembers will be able to run for Officer positions for the 2008-2009 school year! To run you must stop by the Accounting Club office to complete the Candidate Petition Form, and you must give your speech on the 7th and the 8th. You must be a current Accounting Club member to run, and if elected your training begins this semester with helping to plan banquet this year!
All officer positions are available, as every officer must run again if they wish to stay in office. For more info on the officer positions Click here.
Remember being an officer is a huge commitment, so feel free to email us if you have any questions on the time commitment and requirements of the positions. You can email Andy Leasure directly with any questions (aleasu1@uic.edu) or feel free to stop by the office at 1150 UH.
All Members may vote on whomever they believe to be the perfect candidate for the positions, and Members may vote electronically immediately after Friday's election speeches. Members will have all weekend to vote, and we will not accept any votes after 5:00pm on Monday, February 11. Votes are confident, and they are tallied by Andrew Leasure (current president, not running for any 2008-2009 positions) and Professor Galvin. We will post the email address which you may send votes to Friday morning.
