Mentorship Program
The EMPAC program is set to start with a kick off event taking place at UIC. The kickoff event allows students and company representatives to network and socialize in a business casual setting. During this event we take time to complete forms, share academic and business experiences, and to learn more about the companies enrolled in the EMPAC.
The EMPAC will consist of a mandatory monthly meeting between the client (Mentor) and the Student (Mentee) where both individuals will complete progress reports and network together. The progress report will consist of possible things that can be done throughout the mentorship program such as the following:
- A job Shadowing Day (The Mentee is able to go through a day at work with the client)
- A networking event (an event with the clients' firm where the Mentee can be introduced to your firms culture and environment)
- A Mock Interview and Resume' review session
- Attend an Accounting Club event (social or professional)
Near the end of your participation in the EMPAC program, the Accounting Club will mail you a progress report which will include the date of all submitted progress reports and statement verifying your completion of the EMPAC program. We also will mail you a duplicate confirmation report that must be submitted to the appropriate Human Resources department and sent back to the UIC Accounting Club.
The Mentorship Program is an amazing opportunity to connect yourself and your company with individual students. Many students enrolled in this program are just freshman and sophomores, and this is a great way to find outstanding students just starting their academic career. This is also an amazing opportunity for our young students because it allows them to learn about the business world and what really awaits them after their academic careers.
